Herstellen van Microsoft Office Setup Error
 
Meldingen

Wanneer je probeert Microsoft Office te installeren of het programma voor het eerst opstart, en je ontvangt de volgende foutmeldingen (deze heb ik in het engels laten staan, bij een nederlandse installatie zou het nederlandse foutmeldingen kunnen zijn):
  • Fatal error during installation
  • This patch package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package
  • The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Insert the Office XP product disk and click OK
  • This patch package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package
  • The installation source for the product in not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it
  • This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package
 
Mogelijke Oorzaken

Dit is een resultaat van een register conflict, dat informatie bevat van een vorige Microsoft Windows Installer installatie.
 
Oplossing
 
Je kunt het probleem oplossen door de Windows Installer Cleanup utility te gebruiken en de Windows Installer register instellingen te verwijderen en hierna Office opnieuw te installeren

Om dit te doen, volg deze stappen:
1.       Download Windows Installer Cleanup utility van Microsoft
2.       Voer het programma uit
3.       Om de Windows Installer Cleanup utility te gebruiken, volg deze stappen:
  • Klik Start, selecteer Programma's, selecteer hierna de Windows Installer Cleanup utility
  • Selecteer het programma dat je wilt verwijderen, en klik op verwijder
  • Klik op O.K., en klik dan exit
  • Start Office Setup opnieuw om Office te installeren
